The United States and France have both been countries of immigration. Although both countries get immigrants from different parts of the world, they are almost equally influenced by the cultures of the immigrants that occupy them. Located in Western Europe and because of her contributions and involvement with WW2, France receives a majority of immigrants from Spain, Portugal, North and West Africa. Like natives of the United States, French citizens don’t migrate to other countries in large packs . Being the second largest country by area in Continental Europe,France ,unlike the United States,Muslims in France are segregated and discouraged by the French caste system to soak in the culture.
The United States,unlike France, has many problems with illegal immigration and a stalled economy. Even though America is in a recession, immigrant numbers have increased.America’s immigrants are from all parts of the world and there is no segregation of any kind. Unlike France, America’s immigration’s policy was design by neglect rather than by design. Unlike France, immigration has affected America positively and America handles her immigration problems rather better.
The reason France has been negatively affected by immigration is because she is losing her European Individuality to an increasing number of Muslim immigrants. America, on the other hand, is a nation of diversity and unlike France, is not being occupied by just one race of immigrants but many. Many people agree that the United States handles her immigrant problems rather better than any other nation in the world. Another common ground these two countries have is tourism. Both nations have a large number of tourist attractions and tourists although the United States might have more tourists than France.
The United States and France are both beautiful countries with languages that are known around the world. English is the official business language of the world and French is the official language of the United Nations.Both countries have been very welcoming and greatly influenced by the Western culture.
